Smash The Patriarchy

We have so many debates about Patriarchal society oppressing the women.

As we live in patriarchal society, think for yourself, why as a man you are oppressing women. Why you are oppressing your mother, sister, daughter, wife or any other female relative. Why you believe in harassing them, disrespecting them and wish their ill-being.

If your answer is no, you don’t do that, on the contrary you take extra care of female members of your family, than don’t assume you are any extra ordinary or progressive man or different from other men. Those are the values that have been embedded in you like in any other man, from our patriarchal ancestors. You are part of the society where man has always taken extra care of females. It is not only true for you but it the case with most of the man in present and in past. In fact in history man has been even more thoughtful towards woman then present man and women have always been given more privilege.

If your answer is yes, I oppress because I am man, than it’s not the patriarchy that is to be blamed, it’s the problem that exist in you. Is it justified to blame and defame whole society because some imperfections exist in you as a person?

 

Then why patriarchy should be smashed?

      Since ages men has always worked for the welfare of society and have taken the humanity from stone age to industrial revolution to today’s luxurious form of living. All through men took special care for the welfare of women, children and elders by taking extra burden on him and sacrificing his life and comfort in the process.

    Historically patriarchal men have worked hard to give us this beautiful and comfortable world to live in. In absence of machines, patriarchal men used his hands to build roads, tunnels, buildings, technology by burdening himself with lot of hard work, only to be disgusted by us as oppressor of women. For extra responsibility that a patriarchal man has taken, instead of getting applauded and respected, he currently faces the ire of being patriarchal as if it is a curse, than what is the advantage for a man to be of patriarchal mind-set.

   It is a question for current man why not to take the double advantage by shedding the patriarchal role. Stop taking the extra burden of society and at the same time save himself from being cursed by coming generations.  At any situation why to take extra risk then women, why to take extra financial responsibility and burden of family.

   It is the time man should understand to Smash the Patriarchal mind-set and take equal responsibility as women.
