Oppression and exploitation of woman, a truth “everyone knows about it”

  

We know that since ages woman has been oppressed by man. It is the hard reality that everyone knows and the best proof that woman has been oppressed is that “everyone knows about it” and if you ask anyone they will affirm the same.

               We know of various oppressions and exploitations that occurred in the past, may it be oppression of the black people as slaves, oppression of Jews by Nazis, oppression of Indians by British or oppression of Americans by British. There is one thing common in all of them; there had been uprising, revolution and movement against injustice. Strangely enough we don’t know of any movement or uprising for women rights, especially before British era.  

               Now is the first time that we have seen the wave of feminism fighting for the women rights, as women has been oppressed historically.

That gives rise to various questions:

 1)  Is the current generation specifically MAN so progressive that for the first time they are fighting for women empowerment and rights of women?

2) Is the current MAN best of all generations that he has thought that oppressing woman is bad?

3) Is the woman safest of all in comparison to past?

4) Why there was no uprising by women in the past?

 

If answer to first three questions is “YES” then why feminist portray MAN as monsters, they should be thankful and respectful towards present MAN, that even though historically women is oppressed still present man is thoughtful of taking the woman out of that oppression. If woman is safest compared to earlier then feminist must be happy that crime has reduced but then why they always ask for law change and stricter laws.

If answer to first three questions is “NO”, then if historical MAN was better then why they oppressed women and why women never tried to come out of oppression.

The real answer to all these questions is in the fourth question that is “Why there was no uprising by woman in the past?”

               Was woman in past weak enough to revolt? It is not possible, woman was much stronger mentally and physically then present woman. There have been enormous Heroic tales of women where they have shown and proven their mettle and have even lead various kingdoms.

               Was woman in past dumb enough to know that she has been oppressed and need to come out of that oppression? Again it is not possible, woman in past has shown their intelligence whether be as mother, wife, daughter or sister. They can never be labelled as dumb.

Truth is it is highly unlikely that anyone oppressed will never revolt.  The only reason can be, there never was any oppression. It is a myth that has been created and then reinforced by narration of random customs about which we don’t even know the full truth and origination.

 Coming back to the original proof that “everyone knows about it”, let’s see the reality of that. If we ask anyone what proof they have, their first answer will be, “it must have to be true as everyone knows about it“. Only proof they have is hearsay and that’s it,

Than ask for second proof for such belief. Either they will not have any reason or second best may be “Ask your grandmothers, how much they had been oppressed”. If you tell them, “No they have not been oppressed” and ask back “how about your grandmothers, why they have been oppressed and why your grandfathers were so cruel to oppress the women of the house”.   

Then and there comes the beauty and that exposes the whole truth and bursts the myth. There will be stoic silence and then their answer will be “OUR FAMILY IS VERY PROGRESSIVE, WE NEVER OPPRESSED THE WOMEN OF OUR HOUSE, it is the other families that oppresses their women”. More than 99% people will say the same thing. So if 99% families are not oppressing the woman are we talking about that less than 1% and building the myth and just to reinforce the myth projecting our ancestors as woman abusers and oppressors, for which we don’t have any actual proof.

If you ask any feminist why you are fighting for woman rights, their answer will be “because woman has been oppressed historically”. But in reality there is no proof that woman has been oppressed historically other than the proof that “everyone knows about it”.
